Getting Started in 3 Easy Steps

Here’s how to get your store connected in under five minutes.

1. Install the Plugin

First, you’ll need to prepare the plugin file for upload:

• Save the openai-product-feed-generator.php file I provided.
• Create a new folder on your computer and name it openai-product-feed-generator.
• Place the .php file inside this new folder.
• Compress (zip) the entire openai-product-feed-generator folder.

Now, in your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, and upload the zip file you just created.

2. Activate & Get Your URL

Once installed, click Activate. Then, find your unique feed link by navigating to Settings → OpenAI Product Feed in your WordPress admin menu. Your ready-to-use feed URL will be displayed right there for you to copy.

3. Submit to OpenAI

Copy the URL and submit it to the OpenAI Commerce platform. Your products will now be ready for indexing!

Important: First-Time Setup & Troubleshooting

After activating, you must perform two quick steps to ensure your feed URL is working correctly.

• Step 1: Refresh Your Permalinks Your new feed URL might show a “Page Not Found” error at first. This is normal. To fix it, go to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress admin and simply click the “Save Changes” button. You only need to do this once.
• Step 2: Flush Your Site Cache If you use a caching plugin (like WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, SiteGround Optimizer, etc.) or your web host uses server-level caching, you must clear your site’s cache. This forces your site to recognize the new feed page. If you ever find your feed isn’t updating with new products, clearing the cache is the first thing you should do.
